The left sides of each pair don’t 100% look the part (hair pun!) on their own nor do they fit with the outfit our model is wearing, despite that outfit being quintessentially mid-century. Fit this hair into a 50’s context as in the third and fourth pictures and it looks just fine. But! The length on the sides and back of this modern style read classic, and classic can transcend any era. From the front, it’s modern and not as good a fit for the 50s when compared to something shorter and more combed it’s certainly not like that aforementioned stereotypical flat-top buzz. Some of the hairs you’ll see here are perfectly 50s (a flat-top buzzcut needs no gilding) but some others don’t nail the era without a little shift in context.
I’m not trying to tell you anything you don’t know, only trying to celebrate what I love and use. You probably have most if not all of the hairs in this post. For others who don’t, worry not it’s all skip-able until you get to the pictures + CC links.
I love this sort of post so for others who do, there are lots of words under the cut.
